First, the official waist measurement, using the Official String & Measuring Tape: No change. I’m still the same size, (well, maybe a tiny bit smaller, but it’s not enough to tell for sure so I’m calling this one no change). This might sound discouraging, but I’m happy I haven’t grown. While we’ve been pretty good about eating a lot of vegetables and not much refined food there has still been some leftover holiday candy making its way into me, and some fancy coffees. Also, I haven’t started moving much yet, and I plan to do so.
Second, the pocketbook measurement: Ok. We spent $124.29 on food this week. This feeds two adults and two 16-year olds, so that’s $31.07 per person per week, not too shabby. Most of the food we bought hasn’t been eaten, or at least a large portion of it hasn’t, for example, our pantry is full of cans of beans. The two 16-year olds are boarders who we’re not subjecting 100% to our new eating journey, so some of the $124.99 went towards thing like fruit cups for their lunches.
Third and final, reading the book: I’m on page sixty reading about the “benefits” of ingredients that we’re supposed to believe are healthy. This book is fascinating, I’ll write something more detailed when I’m finished the whole thing.
