Garlic & Citrus

Remember that pre-planning I wrote about? It’s paying off. Earlier this week I roasted five heads of garlic, which made for some amazing smells here in the house. All of that sweet, tasty, roast garlic went into a big tub of roast garlic hummus, made with the huge can of chick peas we got a couple of weeks ago. There’s still some hummus in the fridge, but we’re starting to run out of veggies to eat it on.

A several days ago Mark wrote about a winter citrus salad in The Minimalist, and I thought really good and bought some citrus fruits. Today I finally chopped them up and made the salad. It’s pretty good. I think I was hoping for a stronger flavour, but maybe it’s because my fruits weren’t that amazing, or because I didn’t have great vinegar. Either way, I’ll probably try it again sometime, and see if I can really make it something special.

  • What is Choices That Matter?

I'm a guy named John, and I do most of the writing around here. I went from a really active lifestyle to a really inactive lifestyle very quickly and my body is noticing. On top of that I'm worried about what's happening to our planet, so, I'm trying to do something about it.

For Christmas I received the book Food Matters, which I found very interesting and inspired me to start changing. Check out my first post for the beginning of the story.
