Week Two Roundup

It’s Monday, time to pull out the official string and measuring tape[link it up!!!] and measure myself, and add up the grocery bills and see where we stand.

On the measuring front, I appear to have my waistline down to 41 3/4 inches. That’s just over 1/2 inch since we started this little experiment. Not amazing, but I can’t expect do just drop ten inches overnight, and I haven’t exactly become more active or anything, although I want to. So far, I feel fine. If anything I feel more healthy, but that’s probably all in my head.

On the grocery bill side of things, it looks like we spent $154.21 this week, or #38.55 per person. That’s not the most amazing number, and it’s higher than last week. We went to Costco again this week, which didn’t help things, (getting out of there without spending a bunch is nearly impossible), but our pantry is getting more and more full every day. Check out this can of chick peas that we bought at Costco. It cost $3.59. Hummus here I come!

A photo of me with a huge can of chick peas.

Wow, that's a lot of chickpeas.

  • What is Choices That Matter?

I'm a guy named John, and I do most of the writing around here. I went from a really active lifestyle to a really inactive lifestyle very quickly and my body is noticing. On top of that I'm worried about what's happening to our planet, so, I'm trying to do something about it.

For Christmas I received the book Food Matters, which I found very interesting and inspired me to start changing. Check out my first post for the beginning of the story.
